hidden on the facade of the "Red Mansion" in via Gaspare Buffa at (theoretical) 6, there is a crest of sandstone, upside down: it is a signal, is the midpoint of a “rosa geografica” che si sovrappone alla topografia reale e mantiene orientata, nell’unico modo possibile, tutta la ricerca storica, geomantica su Luigi Baccino.
È una convinzione che si è fatta strada man mano che ci siamo mossi sul territorio seguendo piste simboliche e rimandi.
La posizione di quel palazzo che possiamo dire essere collocato nel punto X, rispetto ad altre costruzioni sul territorio di Cairo, ha una ragione ed una motivazione che va ricercata nella topografia, nella rabdomanzia, negli accadimenti temporali, e principalmente nella geomanzia.

L’edificazione del palazzo, che aveva a piano terra le scuderie e i magazzini-cantina, con pilastri e volte in mattoni, era avvenuta ricercandone prima la migliore collocazione sul terreno tenendo in giusta considerazione le forze sotterranee che lo attraversano il sito.
Ne influenza positivamente la sua esistenza il fiume Bormida che scorre a poche decine di metri e il monte del Castello, dove sono stratificati secoli di significati.
